Drop the Doughnut

DROP THE DOUGHNUT – Make a healthier choice For those of you that like to cook desserts I have an amazing and healthy cake recipe for you! I find that cake recipes can often be a little daunting but this blueberry banana cake is guilt free and easy to make! The best part is this cake will take less than an hour to make before it is ready to eat.

The two main ingredients, blueberries and bananas are packed full of healthy vitamins and minerals which are great for your health and well being.


125g butter

¾ cups sugar

1 egg

2 ripe bananas

1 ½ cups self raising flour

1 punnet of blueberries


  1. Melt butter and sugar in a saucepan.
  2. Remove from heat.
  3. Add mashed bananas and stir to blend.
  4. Add egg and mix well.
  5. Add flour and mix.
  6. Add in blueberries (or if you’re feeling indulgent you can replace the blueberries with half a pack of choc chips).
  7. Bake on 170 degrees for 40 minutes.
